Flu vaccination appointments Posted on 28 Aug 2020

Flu clinics are running from late-September and will be on a pre-allocated slot basis, they are being held in West Wight Sports Centre. If you are in any of the groups below please contact the practice to book an appointment:

  • those aged 65 years and over

  • those aged six months to under 65 years in clinical risk groups

  • pregnant women

  • carers

  • close contacts of immunocompromised individuals

  • health and social care staff employed by a registered residential care/nursing home, registered domiciliary care provider, or a voluntary managed hospice provider.

  • Eligible children will be invited via letter in early September.

Please note that, if you are aged between 50 and 64 and not in a clinical at risk group, the earliest you will be offered a flu vaccination is November, providing there is sufficient vaccine.  No appointments will be offered for people in this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.    If you are aged 50 to 64 and are in a clinical ‘at risk’ group which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.
